Profile
Zheng Zhiming, information processing expert, is a professor of Beihang University. Born in October 1953 in Shanghai, he is a native of Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province. He graduated from the Mathematics Department of Peking University in 1977. In 1984 and 1987, he obtained a master's degree and a doctorate in basic mathematics from the university. He has become an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences since 2017. He is currently Deputy Director of the Academic Committee of Beihang University.

He has long been engaged in the mathematics and information interdisciplinary fields such as aerospace information security and complex information systems. He established dynamic cryptography—the principle and method of cryptanalysis based on algebraic and dynamic fusion. He broke through such aerospace information technical bottlenecks as high-speed, low-cost, and multi-mode. He successfully developed a series of new aerospace safety equipment and put into use. Facing complex information systems, he created the principles and methods of regulating system complexity, and established a new computing model for rapid information dissemination, global information diffusion, and accurate data analysis, which has made important international academic influences. He won the First Prize of the National Technology Invention Award, the Ho Leung Ho Lee Science and Technology Progress Award, the First Prize of the Natural Science Award of the Ministry of Education, and the First Prize of the National Defense Technology Invention Award.
