6th “Yangtze River-the Volga” Youth Forum Delegation Visits XTU
On the afternoon of July 22, 132 Russian youths from 14 Russian federal subjects in the Volga Federal District, and 180 Chinese youth representatives from 6 provinces and municipalities all from the upper and middle reaches of the Yangtze River, visited Xiangtan University. They toured around the Chairman Mao Bronze Statue Square at the south gate, the Shaw Building, the Exhibition Center for the History of Xiangtan University, and the XTU Engineering Training Center.
During the visit to a theme exhibition on “Revolutionary Spirits and Inspired Energy” in the hall of Shaw Building, the youth delegates listened carefully to the commentator’s introduction to the revolutionary heroes’ family letters, poems, mottos, and self-reports, to learn about the strong beliefs and responsibilities of the Communists.
When visiting the XTU history exhibition center, the members asked the commentator in detail about the establishment, construction, and development process of XTU, and tried to feel the glorious history of those working and studying at XTU.
Liu Jianping, XTU vice president, believed that China and Russia, the neighbors, share long-term friendship. The vast majority of young people in China and Russia shoulder the mission of inheriting and carrying forward the sound China-Russia relation. He expected the youths would make good use of the “Yangtze River-the Volga” Youth Forum as a platform to learn from each other, deepen exchanges, strengthen friendship, and work together to contribute to the China and Russia friendly tie.
