Confucius Institute at Makerere University

The Confucius Institute at Makerere University, co-established by Uganda's Makerere University and China's Xiangtan University, opened in December 2014. The Confucius Institute, from China, has opened its doors at Makerere University to teach Chinese language and culture to Ugandans.
Confucius Institute at Makerere University is the second overseas Confucius Institute established by Xiangtan University. It is also the first in Uganda, the 38th in Africa and the 443rd in the world. It marks a deepening of the cooperation between Xiangtan University and Makerere University in "China-Africa Universities 20+20 Cooperation Plan".
