Confucius Institute at University of Leon

In October 2011, Xiangtan University and University of Leon co-established a Confucius Institute. In December 2012, the Chinese Ministry of Education approved its Mechanical Design Manufacturing and Automation major as a cooperative undergraduate educational program, making it the first cooperative project in Spain for Chinese universities.

The program has 20 students from Xiangtan University studying at University of Leon every year. Nine teachers from Leon University have been invited to teach in the School of Mechanical Engineering in Xiangtan University.
