The National “Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand” Talents Program is a brand project designed for selecting and cultivating high-end talents in China. It is co-organized by seven central ministries and commissions, including the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance, the National Development and Reform Commission, the National Science Foundation, and the China Association for Science and Technology. The program focuses on selecting and cultivating high-level young and middle-aged leading talents targeting at the frontiers of global science and technology. The candidates are believed to be able to lead and support national major science and technology programs and fields to achieve great-leap-forward development. Since initiated in 1995, it has been launched once a year with about 400 candidates each time. A total of 411 talents have been chosen this year.
