XTU Inked Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement with University of Massachusetts

At the invitation of University of Massachusetts and Massachusetts Association of Judges, the six-member Hunan legal delegation, headed by Li Bochao, deputy Party chief of Xiangtan University made a two-week investigation in the jury system in America from June 11 to 25. During the investigation, on behalf of Xiangtan University, Mr. Li paid a visit to University of Massachusetts, School of Law of Northeastern University and Law School of Suffolk University, shared ideas on inter-university and inter-school cooperation. XTU inked comprehensive cooperation agreement with University of Massachusetts, Boston, reached cooperation intention with School of Law of Northeastern University and Law School of Suffolk University in a bid to further stimulate international exchange and cooperation.
On June 16, when visiting University of Massachusetts, Boston, Prof. Li Bochao, Prof. Liao Yong’an, Party chief of Intellectual Property Institute of Law School and Prof. Wen Weiping, dean of School of Foreign Languages were warmly received by Executive Vice President Prof. Winston Langley, Vice President Prof. Eunsook Hyun, Vice President Prof. Zong-Guo Xia, founder and head of Institute for Dispute Resolution Prof. David E. Matz and Former President of McCormack Institute of Policy & Global Affairs Prof. Edmund Beard. After in-depth communication and earnest exchange, the two universities reached cooperation intention in terms of student exchange, teacher exchange and cooperation in scientific research. Mr. Li, on behalf of Xiangtan University, signed cooperation agreement with University of Massachusetts, Boston. Afterwards, the two sides exchanged presents and took group photos for memory.
During their stay in America, Prof. Li Bochao and Prof. Liao Yong’an visited Northeastern University and Law School of Suffolk University on June 13 and June 14 successively. In Northeastern University, they discussed with dean of School of Law Prof. Emily A. Spieler and Prof. Margaret Y.K. Woo, and reached cooperation intention in such affairs as teacher exchange and cooperation in scientific research. In Suffolk University, the professors from XTU conducted in-depth exchange with Vice President of Law School Prof. Christopher Gibson and Former President Prof. Robert H. Smith. As for development history, features for running school and guiding ideology of foreign exchange, the two parties found their shares views and potential cooperation fields. They hoped that greater progress can be achieved in teacher exchange and cooperation in scientific research in the near future.
