From Aug. 28 to 30, the Seventh Annual Meeting of Literature of Ming Dynasty and Hunan International Academic Seminar on Literature of Ming Dynasty was held at XTU, which was jointly hosted by Chinese Academic Seminar on Literature of Ming Dynasty and Xiangtan University and organized by Literature & Journalism College of XTU. Over 170 experts and scholars from more than 90 high schools, institutes, publishing houses, editorial offices of academic journals got together to make the academic exchange including those from Kanazawa University(in Japan), Kanagawa University(in Japan), Peking University, Nanjing University and Fudan University.

The Vice President Wang Jiping attended the opening ceremony of this seminar. First he made a brief introduction to the history of XTU and the basic situation of the teaching and research on Chinese Ancient Literature. Then he fully confirmed the influence and importance of the seminar on four aspects, that is, accelerating wide exchange of the ancient literature academic circle, promoting the prosperous development of ancient literature, advancing the construction of Chinese ancient literature and, and strengthening international friendship. And he sincerely hopes that the experts and scholar can support the construction and development of our university.

The participants have done an extensive and in-depth discussion and exchange during the 3-day conference on the subjects including the Study on Literary Theory of the Ming Dynasty, Study on Writers and Works of the Ming Dynasty, Study on the School of literature of the Ming Dynasty, Study on Various Kinds of Genres of Ming Dynasty, Study on Territorial Literature of the Ming Dynasty, Research on Literature Documents of the Ming Dynasty, Research on Hunan Literature of the Ming Dynasty, Retrospect and Prospect of the Research on Literature of the Ming Dynasty. The conference has accepted a total of over 200 papers. It was a big academic conference with a wide range of participation and a high level of standard, which played a positive role on advancing the construction and development of literature research of Ming Dynasty in XTU and Hunan, as well as international classical literature research.
