Enforcement Regulations on Joint Cultivation Agreement Signed between British University of Paisley

Invited by Vice President Chen Xiaoming, the Vice President of British University of Paisley Alan Godfrey, Director of International Cooperation Department Marcus Ross, and Chinese Project Officer in International Cooperation Department Ms. Chen Jun visited our university to consult the cooperation projects.
The delegation led by Vice President Alan Godfrey was warmly welcomed by Vice President Chen Xiaoming and Vice President Liu Changgeng. The two parties held a meeting in the First Conference Room in International Students’ Building. Relative directors and staff from International Exchange Center, Administration Office of Teaching Affairs, Postgraduate Department and Students’ Work Department attended the meeting. The meeting was presided by Vice President Chen Xiaoming. Vice President Liu Changgeng delivered a welcome speech and gave a brief introduction on the basic situations of our university and Director of International Exchange Center gave a brief introduction on the international cooperation projects of our university. Vice President Alan Godfrey and Director Marcus Ross also gave introductions on the basic situations and the international cooperation projects of their university respectively. Afterwards, the two parties proceeded to a heated discussion on the issues on Joint Cultivation of undergraduates, postgraduates and teachers’ training, etc. Representing one’s own university, Vice President Alan Godfrey and Vice President Liu Changgeng signed Enforcement Regulations on Joint Cultivation Agreement, which was a further step in the cooperation and communication between the two universities after the Cooperation Agreement Memorandum signed in last August during Vice President Chen Xiaoming’s visit to their university.
In the afternoon, Ms. Chen Jun, the Chinese Project Officer in their International Cooperation Department, lectured on the special topic of studying abroad in Britain to the students of our university in the Report Hall on the fourth floor of International Students’ Building. First of all, Ms. Chen Jun introduced the issues which the students were interested in Paisley University, such as the majors, study expenses, accommodation, visa, etc. Afterwards she gladly shared her precious pictures of her abroad study in Paisley University with the students. Ms. Chen Jun was delighted with the positive questions raised by the students and answered them one by one with enthusiasm.
Paisley University is located in Glasgow, a populous city in southwest Scotland. It’s established in 1897. After the combination, it becomes one of the biggest universities in Scotland and it will be renamed as West Scotland University in this August. According to the Enforcement Regulations on Joint Cultivation Agreement signed this time, our university and Paisley university will jointly provide the cooperation projects of “3+1”undergraduate education and “4+1” postgraduate education. One can study for three years in our university and then apply for studying in Paisley University for one year in relative majors. After acquiring all the required credits, the student will be awarded Dual Bachelor Degree from Xiangtan University and Paisley University; one can study for four years in our university and then apply for studying in Paisley University for one year. After acquiring all the required credits, the students will be awarded Master Degree of relative majors of Paisley University. The students of our university who are approved in the projects can enjoy some favorable policies on tuition and accommodation provided by Paisley University.
