Academic Symposium on “Photoelectric Information Functional Material” Important Research Plan of National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) was successfully held in our university from March 17th to 19th, 2007. Nearly one hundred leaders, experts and scholars attended the symposium, including Deputy Director of NSFC Academician Zhu Daoben, Deputy Director of Engineering and Material Science Department of NSFC Researcher Gao Ruiping, Deputy Inspector of Science and Technology Department of Hunan Province Tang Feng, other relative leaders from Engineering and Material Science Department, Chemistry Department and Information Department of NSFC, project principals in the research of “Photoelectric Information Functional Material” Important Research Plan, some principals of completed projects, etc.
The opening ceremony of the symposium was presided by Researcher Gao Ruiping. Deputy Inspector Tang Feng delivered a speech on the ceremony. On the behalf of Science and Technology Department of Hunan Province, Mr. Tang expressed the warm welcome to the leaders, experts and scholars presented at the symposium. He also introduced the achievements on the foundation in Hunan Province and wished a complete success on the symposium. Afterwards, Academician Shen Jiacong, Academician Cao Yong, Academician Wang Zhanguo, Professor Xu Ningsheng, Researcher Liu Minghua gave their summary reports or stratagem reports respectively. In addition, the symposium also included thirteen conference reports, forty-four group reports and a colloquium on the foundation management team. The symposium is of positive significance to accelerate the academic communication in the basic research of the photoelectric information functional material field, and strengthen the intercrossing of different subjects in this field and academic innovation.
