Beijing Olympic Torch Delivery Inspection Team Took a Work Trip to Our University

In the afternoon of 23, August, 16 members of Beijing Olympic torch delivery inspection team, which was led by relevant officers from the Government of Hunan Province, the Sports Administration of Hunan, the Government of Xiangtan City, along with the Sports Administration of Xiangtan, took a work trip to our university. The goal of this trip is to inspect on the route of the torch delivery and the disposition of refreshment booths.

The Beijing 2008 Olympic torch would be delivered in Xiangtan, on 3rd, June, next year. The route starts from Dongfanghong Square, passing through our university on Loop 2 of the city. Later on takes its refreshment booths in the gymnasium. Then, eventually reaches Shaoshan. The expert team heard the brief of refreshment booths project by Professor Maochun Xiang, the director of the university sports department, and visited the VIP lobby, torch delivery persons’ lobby, news publication room, parking lots, surveillance appliances, washroom supplies and free passes, etc. The expert team was quite satisfied with our blue print, and communicated with us on certain details.

The theme of Beijing 2008 Olympic torch delivery is “harmonious trip”; its slogan is “to enlighten enthusiasm and deliver dreams”. The total length of the route in Xiangtan ( Shaoshan ) is about 42 km, and the time is like 7.5 hours, with a 40 minutes break to be taken in the gymnasium of our university. Then all teachers and students of our university would get a chance to see Olympic torch closely and thus feel the Olympic culture.
