Numerical Mathematics and General Mechanics and Fundamental Mechanics Being Identified as National K

On August 20th, Ministry of Education issued Announcement of List of National Key Disciplines of Ministry of Education (JYH [2007] No.4) and Numerical Mathematics and General Mechanics and Fundamental Mechanics of our university were identified as National Key Disciplines.

National Key Disciplines are the key bases that the country selects the best and gives special construction supports to cultivate creative talents and develop scientific research in accordance with the development stratagems and important demands. They are not only the highest level, the strongest strength and the most influential disciplines among similar ones, but also the significant symbols of education level of a university. Our university has always highly focused on the key discipline construction and put it as the core task of the development and work of the university. The leaders of CCP Committee and administration of the university gave special attention and thorough arrangements to the work of amendments of National Key Disciplines. The relative functional units, schools and disciplines’ programmes elaborately organized the argumentations of disciplines’ plans and materials’ composition, and finally a great breakthrough had been made. The identification of National Key Disciplines fully reflects the outstanding achievements our university got in disciplines’ construction in recent years. It’s also a symbol of leaping-type development of our university and it’s of important significance for our university to accelerate the construction progress of building high-level national key university.

According to the requirements of Ministry of Education, the university will give thorough arrangements on National Key Disciplines’ construction in recent days according to Opinion on Strengthening National Key Disciplines’ Construction of Ministry of Education and Temporary Regulations on National Key Disciplines’ Construction and Administration. Keeping up with the disciplines’ development tendency and foreign and domestic research trends, the university aims at the important demands of the country and the area, designs disciplines’ construction and development plans in earnest to truly elevate disciplines’ construction level and construction efficiency.
