Research Group of Professor Luo He’an Won Second Prize of 2006 State Scientific Technology Advanceme

On February 27^th, the Award Ceremony of State Scientific Technology Award was held in Beijing by CCP Central Committee and the State Council. The party and state leaders Hu Jintao, Wen Jiabao, Zeng Qinghong and Li Changchun presented the ceremony and issued the awards to the winners. Wen Jiabao delivered a speech at the ceremony on the behalf of CCP Central Committee and the State Council. Li Changchun presided the ceremony. There were 29 State Natural Science Awards in 2006 including 2 First Prizes and 27 Second Prizes; 56 State Technological Invention Awards including 1 First Prize and 55 Second Prizes; 241 State Scientific Technology Advancement Awards including 1 Special Prize, 20 First Prizes and 220 Second Prizes. Two foreign scientists were awarded State International Scientific Technology Cooperation Award.

The research achievement “Environment-friendly Acephate Production Technology” of our university’s Research Group of Professor Luo He’an won Second Prize of State Scientific Technology Advancement Award. Only two Hunan provincial universities won the awards of 2006 State Scientific Technology Award. Before winning the award, “Environment-friendly Acephate Production Technology” has won 2005 Hunan Patent Golden Award, First Prize of 2005 Hunan Scientific Technology Advancement Award and Ninth China Patent Excellent Prize.

Acephate is a kind of broad-spectrum organic insecticide with high-efficiency and low poison. It has the stomach toxicity and touch-and-kill function and can be used for plants as vegetables, tobaccos, fruit trees, cotton, wheat and rice and so on. It’s a domestic and abroad widely accepted first substitute for the high poisonous pesticide methamidophos. The domestic and abroad production technology had the problems of low yield rate, low initial powder quality, low oil concentrate stability and environmental pollution. After nearly ten years tackling on the project, the Research Group of Professor Luo He’an invented a new environmental-protection technology to produce the acephate, a new product of high-efficiency and low poison. The technology has won five invention patents. Industrial production equipments have been successfully established with an increase of 10-15% yield rate of high pure acephate initial power. The technology also successfully solved the problem of low oil concentrate stability which largely decreased production cost. The whole production process is clear and produces no waste water. The technology scheme is a wisely designed with novelty, creativity and high technological level. It made a prominent contribution to promote the technology advancement and creation in relative fields and already got considerable economic benefit and society benefit.
