Our University Won First Prize of "Challenge Cup" for National Undergraduates

On the morning of November 24, players of our university who participated in the 9th “Challenge Cup” Contest of Undergraduates’ Extracurricular Academic Science & Technology Works came back with great honors. Three works won First Prize, Second Prize and Third Prize respectively. At the same time, the university also won the Medal of Excellent Organization Award. These are the best records of the university in the “Challenge Cup” Contest in these years. The main leaders Peng Guofu, Huang Jianxin, Huang Yunqing, Li Bochao, Chen Xiaoming, Zhou Yichun and the principals of Student Affairs Department, Teaching Affairs Office, Department of Graduate Students, League Committee of the university, School of Materials and Photoelectronics, School of Mechanical Engineering, gave a greeting ceremony for all the honorable players.

There are more than 1000 pieces of extracurricular works in this contest. 90 works won First Prize, 220 works won Second Prize and 535 works won Third Prize. Three selected works of the university were all awarded. WHEELED MOBILE ROBOT WELDING TRACKING SYSTEM BASED ON ROTATING ARC SENSOR made by Yuan Can, Qu Yuebo, Huang Jun, Yin Li, Gong Hai, Zhou Wenjun and Li Anqiang (Tutor: Hong Bo) won First Prize. CONTINUAL PULSE-JETTING ELECTRODEPOSITION APPARATUS OF NANOCRYSTALLINE NICKEL made by Tang Tian and Qian Feng (Tutor: Pan Yong and Wang Xianyou) won Second Prize. BIG TORSIONAL MOMENT NUMERICAL CONTROL TURNTABLE WITH HIGH PERFORMANCE BASED ON CONTINUAL GRADUATED ARC CAM MECHANISMmade by Xie Chengyin, Chen Wenlin, Tang Wenzhuang, Kong Mabin, Wang Beizhan and Li Dongxing (Tutor: Hu Zihua and Yang Xiangjun) won Third Prize.

At the ceremony, General Secretary of the Party Peng Guofu pointed out that the great achievements in this contest would not be obtained without the elaborate preparation of the players, the devotion of the tutors and the sincere cooperation of all the departments. It provides a new platform for promoting the innovative capability of all students and sets a new aim. “Challenge Cup” means challenge and meeting challenges are to facing opportunities.
