Satisfactory Achievements in the 10th Degree Site Application From Department of Graduate Students

Our university has received 8 doctoral programs, 16 master’s level-one disciplines and 6 master’s programs in the 22nd conference of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council where the tenth group of discipline and specialty list of doctor’s and master’s degrees were authorized.

The eight doctoral programs are: History of Law, Chinese Communist Party History, Marxism’s Chinesization Research, Comparative Literature and World Literature, Applied Mathematics, Organic Chemistry, Material, Administrative Management.

The sixteen master’s level-one disciplines are: Psychology, Academic Economy, Applied Economy, Law, Marxism Theory, Chinese Language and Literature, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Machinery Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Computer Science & Technology, Chemical Engineering &Technology, Management Science & Engineering, Business Administration, Public Administration.

The six master’s programs are: Japanese Language and Literature, Communication, Solid Mechanics, Environmental Science, Informatics, Archives.

Up till now, doctoral programs of our university have reached 17 with a coverage of seven sections of disciplines and thirteen level I disciplines, and master’s level I disciplines have, in reality, arrived to 19(including three actual level I disciplines: News Communication, Environmental Science & Engineering, Library, Information &Archive Management), while master’s programs have been up to 115, covering eight sections of disciplines.

The achievements made in the 10th Degree Site Application have laid a solid foundation for our university’s road to a high level key university. At present, with a view to realizing the breakthrough of no doctoral level I disciplines and earning more doctoral programs next time, the university has demanded to change the concept of paying more attention to construction rather than application, and strengthen the construction of current doctor’s and master’s programs while intensifying the construction of disciplines and degrees which have obvious merits and vivid features.

In order to realize this goal, the university leaders, with other function departments such as Department of Graduate Students, Personnel Department, Science & Technology Department and Society & Science Department, have gone to colleges to do deep research. The Party committee has conformed some disciplines as the key disciplines for the 11th Degree Site Application and made a feasible construction plan with a large amount of supportive expenditure. The university will take time examinations of the sites that have bee listed as the key disciplines for construction. For those programs and disciplines concerned that are to make more contributions for the aim of our university stepping into a high level key university, do remember to take the expenditure into the construction of disciplines, enhance the construction and achieve fruits in the years to come.
