The Students of Our University Entered "the United Nations"

On the morning of November 6th, the delegate team of our university, the only team was invited in Hunan Province, participated in the opening ceremony of "2004' Simulated United Nations" which was hosted by United Nations Association of the People's Republic of China and held in the Institute of Foreign Affairs.
The simulated target of the activity was UNCHR (the Human Rights Commission of the United Nations) and its theme is the human rights, which includes two subjects under discussion - civil rights and rights of development; importance of education of human rights. According to the information from the host party, the objective of this activity is offering a stage for the contestants to express their thoughts, discuss problems and communicate with each other, promote the education of the human rights in China and enhance the consciousness on human rights consciousness among the public, undergraduate students in particular.
There were about thirty-eight delegate teams from thirty universities, including Tsing-Hua University, Beijing University, Renmin University of China and Institute of Foreign Affairs, etc. There were 6 students in each team. The delegate team of our university, led by Mr. Guo Shuli - associate professor of School of Law, included Zhou Yuan, Xu Gangling who were postgraduates in School of Law and Zhang Kuizhong and Yang Xiaohu that were postgraduates in School of Marxism, and Chang Yuan, a postgraduate in the School of Foreign Languages. Mr. Shen Guofang - Minister Assistant of Foreign Affairs Ministry, Mr. Jin YongJian - President of United Nations Association of the People's Republic of China, Mr. Wu JianMin, president of Institute of Foreign Affairs, Ma Heli , representative of the United Nations Development Program residing in China, were all present the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.
