French University Presidents Came to Our University to Give Lectures for Academic Communication

From May 12th to the afternoon of 14 th, Vice President of Université de Savoie, Professor James Shepherd, Vice President of Université de Saint-Etiene, Professor Dominique Mellet came to our university to give lectures for academic communication. Leaders of our university, Peng Guofu, Luo He'an, Huang Yunqing and Li Bochao expressed their warm welcome to the guests.
Universite de Savoie and Université de Saint-Etienne are all well-known nation-owned universities in France with high international reputation. The two universities have established long-term cooperative relationships with our university. They also the first ones that developed mutual cultivation programs in China. Accompanied by Vice President Hunang Yunqing, the two guests were in spirits to visit the library, Mathematics and Computational Science School, Chemistry Engineering College, and Business School etc. In addition, they got communication with students in School of Business. President Luo He'an met the two guests in the library meeting room. They got extensive discussions on accelerating mutual cultivation education programs, expanding majors in those programs, research cooperation, teaching & research cooperation, scholar communication, exchange teachers, exchange students and international economic research, exploration and cooperation, etc. They came to a common understanding on mutual cultivation education programs.
In the evening of the 12th, Professor James Shepherd and Professor Dominique Mellet were invited to give the first lecture of “Sino-Foreign University Presidents Forum” held by our university. They gave wonderful lectures on a series of topics concerning education system in universities of European and French and education cooperation between China and France. Moreover, they answered the questions raised by the students. Their humorous lectures won lots of applause within the harmonic environment.
