Construction of the Research Center of Chemical Process Simulation and Optimizing Engineering of the

On August 20, the experts group organized by the Ministry of Education and the Education Department of Hunan Province came to our university to give the acceptance inspection of the project of "the Research Center of Chemical Process Simulation and Optimizing Engineering of the Ministry of Education". Sheng Jiyun, the Vice Director of the Education Department of Hunan Province and the university leader Luo He'an attended the acceptance inspection.

The Director of the acceptance inspection group is Yu Ruqing, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Science. The group investigated XiangDa Bide Co. Ltd, which is the experiment base of new products of the research center, and the lab of the research center. At the report meeting held afterwards, Luo He'an reported to the experts group on the achievements gained in project research, industrialization development, system of management, personnel training as well as academic exchange. The experts group gave a highly favorable comment on the construction of the research center. They also made some proposals on how to enhance the special features of the research center and strengthen the academic construction. After a thorough discussion, the experts group agreed on the pass of the acceptance inspection unanimously that the research center has completed the project construction, achieved the desired objects and made the investment in place, with standard management, rational personnel successful transformation of the technological results.

Since the approval of construction from 2001, the Research Center of Chemical Process Simulation and Optimizing Engineering of Ministry of Education has made an outstanding achievement. It had undertaken 36 projects in all, including National 863 Project, National Natural Science Fund, key projects at provincial and ministerial level and research projects entrusted by enterprises. The contract fund is 11.48 million Yuan, including "The Key Technological Innovation and Basic Research in Environmental Goodwill Producing Caprolactam ", the significant project of the National Natural Science Fund. The center has published about 150 academic papers, with 20 of them accepted by SCI; it also applied for 12 innovation patents with 4 of them were authorized; 7 accomplishments have passed province and ministry level authorization; it won two province and ministry level awards including the First Prize of Scientific and Technological Innovation of Chinese Petro-Chemical Corporation.
