XTU Students Achieve Good Results in China College Students’ Material Heat Treatment Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition

The 6th China College Students’ Material Heat Treatment Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was held online for the first time from October 18 to 25, 2020. There were 199 teams from 92 universities across China participating in this competition. XTU students won the first, second, and third prizes for each. XTU won the Outstanding Organization Award, and Zhu Daibo, Liu Yang, Li Faguo and Zhao Manxiu were rated as excellent instructors.

The competition was sponsored by the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (CMES), the Material Major Teaching Steering Committee of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education, and the Mechanical Major Teaching Steering Committee of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education; and undertaken by the CMES Heat Treatment Branch, the Tsinghua University, the Shanghai Jiaotong University, the Harbin Institute of Technology, the Jiangsu University , the Henan University of Science and Technology, and the Taiyuan University of Technology. After preliminary and final competitions, a total of 1 special prize, 19 first prizes, 37 second prizes, 63 third prizes, and 79 excellent prizes were announced.

XTU students Li Xiaoxuan, Hu Xiyan, Zhao Zhiya, and Wang Qichen’s work “Study on the Influence Mechanism of Pre-deformation Heat Treatment on the Mechanical Properties and Microstructure of Cu-2.5Be Alloys” won the first prize. Tan Yao, Xian Zhenhui, Chen Kening, Liu Zhan, and Tang Man's work “Preparation of Ti-Al-Si Gradient Coating Based on Silicon Concentration Gradient” won the second prize. Wang Tuoyang, Yang Xingyun, Huang Fangduo, and Liu Sangsang’s work “The Evolution of Al0.2/1.0CrFeMn0.8Ni2.1 High-entropy Alloy Microstructure During Annealing Process” won the third prize.

This year, the competition has been successfully selected into the “National University Discipline Competition Ranking” by the China Association of Higher Education. As a professional competition in the field of materials, it is a national competition for college students in materials science and engineering and related majors, and a platform displaying outstanding talents in materials heat treatment in China.
