“Building a ‘Dual Circulation’ Development Pattern, in Which Domestic and Foreign Markets Can Complement Each Other” Academic Seminar Kicks off

An academic seminar on “Building a ‘Dual Circulation’ Development Pattern, in Which Domestic and Foreign Markets Can Complement Each Other”, was held in Xiangtan recently. It was co-sponsored by the Business School of Xiangtan University (XTU) and the Consumer Economics Magazine. Dozens of experts and scholars from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Shandong University, Tongji University, Fudan University, Nanjing University, Xiamen University, Jinan University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, and related universities and institutions in Hunan attended.

At the opening ceremony, XTU Vice President Zheng Chijian introduced XTU’s development, and the development process and research results of consumer economics.

The seminar consisted of 5 keynote speeches and 3 sub-forums for exchanges and discussions. At the keynote speech session, Zhang Qizai of the Institute of Industrial Economics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Zang Xuheng of Shandong University; Cheng Mingwang of Tongji University; Yi Xingjian of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies; and, Han Lei of the XTU Business School made keynote speeches successively. Their speech titles were “Playing the Guiding Role of New Economy in Formation of A New Development Pattern”; “Consumption and Construction of A ‘Dual Circulation’ Development Pattern, in Which Domestic and International Markets Complement Each Other”; “Domestic and International Dual Circulations: Facts, Logic, and Policy Recommendations”; “The ‘Dual Circulation’ Development Pattern and Residents' Consumption Rate Increase”; and “ ‘Dual Circulation’ in Economic Development Process” respectively. The speakers systematically explained the key issues in their respective fields.

During the forum, the speakers and participants had high-level academic exchanges. The atmosphere at the meeting was warm and there were heated discussions and exchanges, which enhanced the academic gains of the participating teachers and students.
