XTU Holds 2021 Virtual Council Conference of Confucius Institute, University of Leon

On April 29, Xiangtan University (XTU) held the 2021 Virtual Council Conference of the Confucius Institute, University of Leon (UOL), Spain. XTU President Li Bochao, Vice President Yu Zuguo, UOL President Juan Francisco García Marín, and Vice President Roberto Baelo Álvarez attended. The Confucius Institute Council members of the two universities also joined the meeting.

The meeting reviewed minutes of the previous council meeting, listened to the 2019-2020 work report of the Confucius Institute by the Chinese and Western deans, discussed issues related to the construction of Confucius Institute in the next phase, and reached consensus. They also discussed the revision of the talent training plan for the cooperative education project between the two universities and the exchange of credits.

President Marínfully affirmed the fruitful results of the Confucius Institute over the past two years. He said that the University of Leon will continue to support the construction of the Confucius Institute and promote the deeper and broader development of the cooperation projects between the two universities.

President Li expressed his gratitude to the concern and support given to the Confucius Institute from all walks of life at home and abroad, and highly praised the contribution of the Confucius Institute to promoting Chinese and Western cultural integration, international promotion on Chinese language, and cooperation between the two universities. He pointed out that the Confucius Institute has entered a new development stage, and XTU is willing to further deepen friendly cooperation with the University of Leon, seize new historical opportunities, and jointly support the various tasks of the Confucius Institute and promote its high-quality development.
