The Hunan National Center for Applied Mathematics recently received a letter of appreciation from the First International Summit on BDS Applications. It says, “During the preparation and convening of the summit, the Hunan National Center for Applied Mathematics had the overall situation in mind and participated enthusiastically. It provided strong support for the achievements exhibition. And, it was thus fully affirmed by the summit organizing committee and highly praised by the visitors. We would like to express our high respect and sincere thanks to you all!”
The First International Summit on BDS Applications was held in Changsha on September 16th and 17th, 2021. It was co-hosted by the People’s Government of Hunan Province, the Cyberspace Administration of China, the China Satellite Navigation System Committee, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Transport, and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council. The Hunan National Center for Applied Mathematics, which was established based on Xiangtan University, actively participated in the summit organizing work during the preparation and convening of the summit. It also displayed the achievements of the “intelligent cluster tie type long rail track-laying machine based on BDS high-precision positioning” at the summit achievement exhibition. The study was made by the center’s core excellent scientific research team led by Cai Chenglin and Chen Yangzhuo. During the exhibition, the findings were highly evaluated by all sides. The center’s participation in preparing for the summit was also fully appreciated by the summit organizing committee.
The result of the “intelligent cluster tie type long rail track-laying machine based on BDS high-precision positioning” is a typical example of the successful application of BDS positioning technology to the intelligent transformation of rail transit construction machinery and equipment. It has created a new field for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements of BDS positioning technology. The team used the BDS and independently developed RTK positioning technology to intelligently transform the CPY500 cluster tie type long rail track-laying machine made by Changyuan Intelligent. The transformed machine breaks the traditional long rail track-laying mode that requires manpower for plumb positioning, remote control of the track-laying machine, and visual alignment. It solves two key problems that the accuracy of the track-laying machine is affected by such factors as weather and labor, as well as the relatively low positioning accuracy of the cluster tie type track-laying machine. In the field test of the Xichang section of the Chengdu-Kunming Railway, the technical goals of static positioning accuracy reaching millimeter level and real-time dynamic accuracy better than 1 centimeter were achieved. And the construction requirements were fully met.
Before this, the results have been given high praise in the summary made during the first anniversary of the BeiDou-3 global navigation satellite system. People's Daily Online, China News Network, Hunan Daily, Hunan Satellite TV, and other media have made a comprehensive report on the achievements. The Hunan National Center for Applied Mathematics will continue to study BDS technology with great concentration, carry forward the BDS spirit in the new era, and contribute to the building of “China’s, World’s, and First-class BDS”.
