Confucius Institute at the University of León Launches Chinese Bridge Summer Camp in China

On the afternoon of July 6,hosted by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education andorganized bqy Xiangtan University, the 2025 Chinese Bridge study program for international students officiallystarted. Yu Zuguo, Vice President ofthe university, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.

Yu Zuguo introduced the university’s development journey, distinctive Sino-foreign cooperative education programs and disciplinary strengths, as well as fruitful achievements in international exchanges and cooperation. He expressed the hope that Spanish students could immerse themselves in the charm of Chinese culturein theXiangtan University, enhance mutual understanding and trust, and build a more solid bridge for deepening educational cooperation and people-to-people friendship between China and Spain.

Xu Xiafei,a representative teacherfrom the Confucius Instituteofthe University of León, extended sincere gratitude to Xiangtan University for its thoughtful arrangement and warm reception. She hoped the students would cherish this valuable opportunity to learn Chinese, take the program as an unforgettable life experience, and inject new vitality into educational cooperation between the two countries.

Student representatives Jiménez Barrios Nicolás and De la Huerga Álvarez Irene expressed their thanks toXiangtanUniversity and high expectations for the upcoming activities. All participants came with a keen interest in Chinese culture, looking forward to gaining knowledge and friendship throughout the program.

The 2025 study program for Spanish students will last over10days. Thearrangements inXiangtan includes Chinese culture lectures, Tai Chi sword experiences, and visits to Hunancultural landmarks such as the Hunan Museum and Mao Zedong’s Former Residence. Afterwards, the group will proceed to Beijing for further research and study activities.Moving forward, Xiangtan University will continue to leverage the Confucius Institute at the University of León as a vital bridge. By deepening cultural immersion, youth exchanges, and mutual learning among civilizations, the university aims to foster understanding and friendship between Chinese and Spanish young people, contributing youthful energy to the exchange and mutual learning of Chinese and Spanish civilizations.
