Under the guidance of the Ministry of Education,the 2022International Conference on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research and Applicationwas held in Xiangtan on November 19. This conference washosted by theCenter for Schooling Development Programme of the Ministry of Education, organized by Department of Education of Hunan Province and Xiangtan University, and co-organized by the Hunan National Center for Applied Mathematics and other institutions.
Experts and scholars from Chinese and overseas universities, together with business representatives, joined the conference online and offline to explore ways toachievemajor breakthroughs in forward-looking basic research, groundbreaking original achievements, and key core technologies. The event generated positive results in promoting international cooperation among high-level talent and facilitating the transfer and commercialization of scientific and technological achievements. Several industry-university-research-application collaboration projects were signed, and one high-level overseas expert was recruited.
Luo Guixiang,member of the Education Working Committee oftheCPC Hunan Provincial Committee andmember of the PartyLeadershipGroup of Hunan Provincial Department of Education,Huang Yunqing,secretaryof theCPCCommittee of Xiangtan University,and Zuo Dukai, deputy general manager of Lens Technology Group,respectivelydelivered opening remarks. Yu Zuguo, vice president ofXiangtanUniversity, presided over the opening ceremony, and Vice President Ge Fei signed the cooperation agreements on behalf of the university.
Luo Guixiang pointed out that the conference is committed to aiming at the frontiers of world science and technology and meeting the country’s major strategic needs. It seeks to promote interdisciplinary integration and collaborative industrial innovation in multiple aspects, including scientific research, talent cultivation, social service, and international exchange, thereby accelerating the translation of Hunan'sabundantscience and education resources into strengths in technological innovation,and support high-quality economic and social development.
Huang Yunqing stated that the conference closely integrates scientificissues with the needs of the times, providing an excellent platform for strengthening academic exchanges between Chinese and foreign universities and promoting deeper industry-university-research-application cooperation between universities and enterprises. He noted that it will play a positive role in better advancing the effective alignment of the education chain, talent chain, innovation chain and industrial chain, and in promoting closer cooperation in key industries among countries and regions participating in the Belt and Road Initiative.
Professor You-Gan Wang of Queensland University of Technology in Australia, Zuo Dukai, deputy general manager of Lens Technology Group, Associate Professor Maxim Goncharov of Novosibirsk State University in Russia, Dr. Vsevolod Gubarev of Novosibirsk State University in Russia, Dr. Camilo Andres Angulo Santacruz of Fluminense Federal University in Brazil, and Dr. Emine Celiker of the University of Dundee in the United Kingdom, among others, delivered keynote speeches respectively, introducing cutting-edge scientific and technological innovations from around the world and sharing innovative ideas on corporate innovation and talent cultivation.
Through the cooperation platform established by the conference, Xiangtan University signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Lens Technology Co., Ltd., forming a deep partnership encompassing scientific research collaboration, talent cultivation, platform co-construction, and achievement commercialization. The university also signed technical development cooperation agreements with Xiangtan Guanli Hydraulic Machinery Co., Ltd. and Hunan Credo Pump Co., Ltd., providing crucial technical support for product upgrades. In addition, Xiangtan University appointed Professor You-Gan Wang from Queensland University of Technology as adistinguished Professor.
theInternational Conference on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research and Application waslaunchedby the Ministry of Education in 2018, aiming to build collaboration platforms connecting Chinese and international universities, research institutes, and enterprises, thereby promoting high-quality opening-up in education and deepening industry-academia-research-application partnerships between China and global partners. This year marks the first timethatHunan Province has participated in hosting the conference, with four cooperation sessions and one seminar organized by Central South University, Hunan Normal University, Xiangtan University, and Hunan Agricultural University respectively.
The 2022International Conference on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research and Application(Xiangtan)was held primarily on the basis of the academic strengths and distinctive disciplinary advantages of Xiangtan University,as well as the scientific and intellectual support provided by theNational Center for Applied Mathematics in Hunan in empowering high-quality industrial and economic development. As one of the first 13 national applied mathematics centers in China, theNational Center for Applied Mathematics in Hunan has undertaken two major national projects and received over ten provincial and ministerial-level science and technology awards since its approval. It has launched a series of exemplary application outcomes in fields such as advanced computing, intelligent navigation, smart manufacturing, construction machinery, and industrial software, generatingmore than RMB500 million in production benefits for enterprises.
