On April 8, afour-member delegation led by Ho Chin Kuan, President of Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) Malaysia, visitedXiangtanUniversity to discuss directions and matters of bilateral cooperation and sign a cooperation agreement between the two universities. Liu Qijun, Secretary of the Party Committee ofXiangtanuniversity, and Yu Zuguo, Vice President ofXiangtanuniversity, attended the exchange symposium.

Liu Qijun introduced Xiangtan University’s history, achievements, and international exchange and cooperation. He noted that this year marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia and also the 50th anniversary of Xiangtan University’s reopening. At such a meaningful moment, he said, it is of far-reaching significance for the two universities to reach consensus on cooperation in such areas as student exchanges, faculty visits, and joint research, and to sign their first framework agreement, opening a new chapter in bilateral exchange and cooperation.

Ho Chin Kuan spoke highly of the teaching environment, scientific research strength and academic atmosphere ofXiangtan University. He briefly introduced APU’sschool-running philosophy, characteristics and disciplinary structure, stating that the two universities have broad cooperation space in the fields of artificial intelligence, engineering, business and other disciplines. He expressed the hope that this exchange wouldhelp the two sides establish a closer friendly cooperative relationship and promote the internationalization of education and talent training of both universities.

Duringthe symposium, the two sides held extensive discussions and explored key directions and priorities for cooperation. They reached broad consensus on student exchanges, reciprocal faculty teaching visits, and joint curriculum development. Both sides expressed the hope that through closer cooperation and exchange, they would jointly advance the internationalization of education, cultivate more innovative talents with global vision, and contribute wisdom and strength to building a global community with a shared future.
