Confucius Institute “Chinese Bridge” Summer Camp Opens

On August 26, the “Chinese Bridge” Summer Camp jointly organized byXiangtan University, the University of León in Spain, and Makerere University Confucius Institute in Uganda officially opened, with 16 Spanish participants and 12 Ugandan participants in attendance.

On theopeningday, the participants toured the Xiangtan University campus, visiting a number of landmark locations including the library and teaching buildings. They expressed great admiration for the university’s educational environment and academic atmosphere.

The 14-day summer camp features a wide range of activities, including Chinese calligraphy, Baduanjin (a traditional Chinese fitness exercise), Chinese tea art, a series of lectures on Chinese culture, sports activities, and visits to the former residences of great historical figures. Through themed lectures, cultural experiences, historical visits, field study, and sports activities, the program aims to help participants appreciate the breadth and depth of Chinese culture from multiple perspectives and gain a better understanding of contemporary Chinese society.

“Chinese Bridge” is a classic project guided and developed by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation, which has become an important platform for students from all over the world to learn Chinese and understand China.Xiangtan University has hosted the summer camp of this project for many consecutive years. The successful opening of this summer camp not only provides a platform for international young students to gain an in-depth understanding of Chinese culture, but also contributes to promoting cultural diversity and the shared progress of human civilization.
