University of León Delegation Visits Xiangtan University for the 50th Anniversary of Reopening

As the 50th anniversary of Xiangtan University’s reopening approaches, partner institutions from around the world have been sending delegations to the university. On September 4, a delegation led by José Alberto, Vice President of the University of León, visited our university to further discuss cooperation and chart a promising future for collaboration between the two universities. Liu Jingang, vice president of Xiangtan University, attended the meeting.

Liu Jingang extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He stated that the two universities have a 20-year history of cooperation, and hoped that through the joint efforts of both sides, the cooperation will write a new chapter.

José Alberto spoke highly of the past cooperation achievements between the two universities and expressed his willingness tofurtherdeepening the cooperation. He said he hoped the visit would help build a closer and friendlier partnership, further advance the internationalization of education at both institutions, and cultivate more outstanding talent.

During the meeting, participants from both sides held extensive exchanges and fully discussed the main directions and priorities for future cooperation. Both universities expressed the hope of further deepening collaboration through closer exchanges, expanding channels for cooperation in faculty and student exchanges as well as scientific research, jointly advancing the internationalization of education, and cultivating more talented people with global vision and innovative ability.

AtLectureHall A502 of the School of Mathematics and Computational Science, José Alberto delivered a wonderful report titled“Introduction to Science and Its Evolution in the Modern World”for Xiangtan University faculty members and students. The lecture provided a comprehensive account of the evolution of science, covering its definition, origin, development, and applications in the modern world. It not only broadened the academic horizons of faculty members and students, but also inspired their innovative thinking. The lecture was chaired by Yu Zuguo, vice president of the university.

The delegation from the University of León will also attend the Chinese and Foreign University Presidents Forum,held as part of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of Xiangtan University’s reopening. José Alberto will deliver a keynote speech at the forum.
