Liu Daxiang, male, born in October 1937, is a native of Qiyang (now Qidong County), Hunan Province. He graduated from Beijing Aviation Academy in 1960. Since 1986, he has been Chief Engineer and First Chief Designer of China Gas Turbine Establishment (formerly 624 Institute). He is currently Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Committee of China National Aviation Holding Company, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of Beihang University. He is also member of the Science and Technology Committee of the PLA General Armament Department, Expert of the Advisory Committee of the Commission of Science Technology and Industry for National Defense, Advisor of the Expert Committee of National 863 Aerospace Aviation Plan, Honorary Dean of the College of Energy and Power Engineering of the Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and Vice Chairman of the Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics. In 1995, he was elected academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
