In this talk, I will discuss homogenization of discontinuous Markov processes with Levy type generators in random media. Two cases will be studied: symmetric stable-like processes in ergodic medium and non-symmetric discontinuous Markov processes in random medium with periodic structure.
Chen Zhenqing, male, is a doctoral supervisor and professor at the Department of Mathematics, University of Washington. He is also member of the American Mathematical Society, Fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, Victor Klee Faculty Fellow at University of Washington, Distinguished Professor of China’s National “Thousand Talents Program”, and a chair professor of the Changjiang Scholar Program of the Ministry of Education, specializing in Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics. He once won Ito Prize in 2019.
He received his Ph.D. from the University of Washington in 1992 and taught at the University of California and Cornell University in the United States. Since 1998, he has worked in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. Professor Chen has done a lot of groundbreaking research at international leading level on Markov process and Dirichlet form, and probabilistic method in stochastic differential equations and partial differential equations. He has 173 academic papers published or to be published, and one academic monograph.
